这个题目从语法上讲：
你可以认为威胁竞争的是：
1. the Standard Oil Trust was broken up
也可以是：
2. the Standard Oil Trust
很难区分，但说2可能带来威胁也是没有错的。
如果从语义角度就可以更清晰的知道：
Trust是托拉斯：就是垄断组织就会对竞争造成威胁。
break up：拆分一个大的公司当然是不会对竞争造成威胁的。
不要觉得所有的题目都要考语法和逻辑。

In demanding the same pay and conditions as their male counterparts, women’s teams across sports are pushing to end comparisons of male and female athletes. To win the battle, however, some comparisons can be used as evidence in their favor.
思考题：

来说说我的出题思路吧：
首先我就想考察大家是否知道第二句中their的指代对象。
因为第一句中是女队要结束男女的比较。
所以只有当第二句的their指代女队的时候。一二句才可以构成转折。
我一开始的B选项设置为：
(B) some comparisons can be used as means to gain benefits for women teams.
B是正确选项!
如果我觉得干扰性不够，担心你们一下就选出来了。
我可以改为：
(B) some comparison can be used as means to gain benefits for men teams.
因为大家可以想一下：
一些比较有利于女队。
那必然有一些比较会有利于男队。
毕竟我们是选最 佳选项啊!
修改后的B是最 佳选项!
来看吧：

女队常常喜欢她们和男队的比较。
这个和原文完全反了吧。所以一定不对吧。
(C) men teams are demanding the same pay and conditions as female teams
男队要求和女队同样的薪酬和待遇。
这个和原文完全反了，所以一定不对吧。
(D) some comparisons are cited as the evidence of battle among female athletes.
一些比较被引用来证明女队员中的争斗。
这就是我做的一个拼多多。
这样肯定不对吧，女队员中可没有battle .
我其实最开始的时候时这样拼的:
(D) some comparisons are cited as the evidence of battle between men and women.
这个选项说不上对也说不上不对，拼的有点尴尬。
所以我就改成了你们现在看到的D的样子。
